Peeta, Inc. (“Peeta,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) helps families coordinate daily life by enabling family members to communicate, plan, and complete tasks together. This privacy policy (this “Privacy Policy”) is designed to help you understand how we collect, use, and share your personal information and how to exercise your privacy rights.
I. SCOPE
This Privacy Policy applies to personal information processed by us on our websites, our iOS mobile application, and our related services and offerings (collectively, the “Platform”). By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference into the Peeta Terms of Service (the “Terms”). The Platform is intended for use in the United States.
II. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
The categories of information we collect depend on how you interact with the Platform and applicable law. For example, we may collect different information if you are visiting our website, registering for an account, or actively using Platform features.
A. Personal Information
“Personal Information” means information that can be used to identify you (alone or in combination). Providing Personal Information is voluntary, but some features may not function without it. We (or service providers acting on our behalf) may collect:

Examples: age information for non-adults under 18 and data parents authorize for child profiles (see XI. Children’s Information).
We may process “Sensitive” Personal Information in limited contexts you enable (e.g., precise location if you turn it on; message/email/calendar content you elect to connect). You are not required to provide Sensitive information to use the Platform.
B. Non-Personal Information
We also collect “Non-Personal Information,” which is technical/aggregated data that does not identify you. Non-Personal Information includes data that has been de-identified or aggregated so it can no longer reasonably be linked to you. We may use and share such information for any lawful purpose.
III. HOW WE OBTAIN YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
A. When You Register for and Use the Platform. We collect information you provide when creating an account (e.g., name, email; optional profile photo), and information generated through use (e.g., family chats, shared calendars and tasks, files you upload, voice inputs for Voice AI), which may include Personal Information of your family members that you submit.
B. Your Communications with Us. We collect information when you contact us (e.g., name, email, support messages). Job applicants may provide CVs, cover letters, and related data.
C. Surveys/Questionnaires/Your Content. If you participate in surveys or create content that can be shared with other users in your household or trusted contacts (“Your Content”), we collect what you provide.
D. Third-Party Providers (Optional). You may choose to link accounts or use third-party services within the Platform (e.g., Gmail, Outlook Mail, Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar, Apple Calendar, Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In). If you link, we receive Personal Information from those services according to your permissions and their policies. Linking is optional and can be disabled anytime in settings.
E. Automatic Data Collection. We and our partners may automatically collect data such as IP address, device/OS, app version, user agent, approximate location (IP-based or device OS if permitted), session and feature usage, crash/diagnostics, and service provider information for analytics, security, fraud prevention, performance, and feature functionality. Technologies include mobile SDKs, cookies/pixels (for websites), and server logs (e.g., analytics/observability tools). You may limit cookies in browser/device settings; some features may not work without them.
F. Targeted Advertising (Web). On our website (not in the iOS app), we may participate in targeted/interest-based advertising that uses cookies/identifiers to recognize your browser across sites. See VI. Your Privacy Choices and Rights for opt-out options.
G. Opt-In Feature Flows. Certain features require you to opt in (e.g., connecting email, enabling Voice AI). If you opt in, you authorize us to collect/use the necessary data to provide that feature (e.g., reading selected emails to extract tasks you direct). If you do not want this, do not enable the feature or disconnect it.
IV. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use Personal Information to:
Provide the Platform — manage accounts; enable messaging, shared calendars/tasks; deliver optional features (e.g., inbox parsing, Voice AI); facilitate third-party integrations; provide support; and communicate about your account and policy changes.
Legitimate Business Purposes — improve and personalize the Platform (including automation and machine learning); research & development; direct marketing/advertising on our website (subject to your choices); network/information security; fraud and abuse prevention; measure engagement and quality; debug and fix errors; authenticate/verify identity; audit interactions and transactions; process job applications; enforce the Terms and our rights; comply with law and defend legal claims.
Aggregated/De-Identified Uses — create de-identified or aggregated datasets for analytics, research, and other lawful purposes.
V. AI FEATURES & GOOGLE USER DATA
AI Features (Peeta Co-Pilot & Voice AI). These features are optional. You may submit inputs (e.g., prompts, selected messages, calendar items) and receive outputs. AI outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete—you should evaluate them before relying on them. You are responsible for your use of outputs and for complying with laws and third-party rights.
Google API Services User Data Policy — Limited Use. If you connect Google services (e.g., Gmail/Google Calendar), Peeta’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to Google’s Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
We do not use Google user data to develop, train, or improve generalized/non-personalized AI/ML models.
We do not sell Google user data.
Gmail/Calendar data is accessed only to provide features you enable and shared only as necessary to deliver or secure those features or comply with law.
If an AI provider is used to process Gmail/Calendar content, it receives only the minimum necessary data to complete your requested operation and may not use that data to train its models.
Provider Changes. If we switch AI or service providers, the protections described in this section will remain in place. Your consents/choices continue to apply and can be withdrawn in settings.
VI. YOUR PRIVACY CHOICES AND RIGHTS
Access/Deletion/Correction. You may request access to, deletion of, or correction of your Personal Information by contacting privacy@peeta.ai. We will verify and respond consistent with applicable law.
Marketing Emails. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails via the link in the message. You will still receive transactional/administrative communications.
Cookies & Interest-Based Ads (Web). Control cookies via browser settings and use industry opt-outs (e.g., NAI/DAA/EDAA). On mobile, adjust OS ad preferences. Note: cookie-based opt-outs are browser-specific and device-specific.
Do Not Track. We do not respond to DNT signals.
Feature Opt-In/Out. Enable/disable integrations and AI features anytime in settings. Some features may not function without certain permissions.
VII. HOW WE DISCLOSE YOUR INFORMATION
We disclose information to third parties for the business purposes described above:
Service Providers. Vendors who provide services on our behalf (e.g., hosting, storage, customer support, analytics, security, identity, payments, AI processing) under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection terms.
Business Partners. To provide a product/service you request jointly (e.g., fulfillment of an accessory/device you purchase).
AI/Processing Partners. To the extent necessary to perform the AI or processing you request (subject to V. AI Features & Google User Data protections).
Legal/Protection. To comply with law or valid legal process; protect rights, property, or safety; detect, prevent, or address fraud/security issues.
Corporate Transactions. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, asset sale, bankruptcy, or similar event (your information may be transferred subject to this Policy).
Aggregated/De-Identified Data. We may share data that cannot reasonably be linked to you.
We do not sell Personal Information and do not share Personal Information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by California law.
VIII. SECURITY OF YOUR INFORMATION
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect Personal Information (e.g., encryption in transit/at rest; role-based access; logging and audits). No system is 100% secure; you use the Platform at your own risk. By using the Platform or providing Personal Information, you agree we may communicate with you electronically about security, privacy, and administrative matters.
IX. YOUR CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS (CCPA/CPRA)
California residents may have the right to request: (1) access to Personal Information collected in the prior 12 months and related details; (2) deletion (subject to exceptions); (3) correction of inaccuracies; (4) information on treatment of “Sensitive” Personal Information; and (5) non-discrimination for exercising these rights. Submit requests to privacy@peeta.ai. We will verify your identity before acting and may deny requests as permitted by law (e.g., unfounded/repetitive/excessive requests may incur a fee as allowed).
X. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS
Personal Information may be processed and stored in the United States and other countries with different data-protection laws. By using the Platform, you consent to these transfers.
XI. RETENTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
We retain Personal Information as long as your account is active or as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, provide the Platform, resolve disputes, establish legal defenses, conduct audits, enforce the Terms, and comply with law. Upon request, we will delete data from active systems, subject to limited backups and legal holds.
XII. CHILDREN’S INFORMATION
The Platform supports family use, including child profiles managed by adults. Children under 13 may use the Platform only with verifiable parental consent and ongoing supervision (consistent with COPPA). Parents/guardians may review or delete a child’s information by contacting privacy@peeta.ai. If we learn we collected Personal Information from a child under 13 without proper consent, we will delete it.
XIII. OTHER PROVISIONS
A. Third-Party Websites and Applications. The Platform may link to or integrate third-party sites/apps (including our business partners). We do not control and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Review their policies before engaging; providing information to third parties is at your own risk.
B. Changes to this Privacy Policy. We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the then-current version with a “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
